Your privacy on the Internet is important to the Utah Administrative Office of the Courts (UAOC). As part of the operation of the UAOC website, we gather certain types of information about and from UAOC website users,
and we would like to explain the types of information we gather and what we do with it.
The Utah Administrative Office of the Courts Privacy Policy applies only to information collected or submitted on the UAOC website, either by directly accessing the UAOC website or accessing it indirectly from other websites.
It does not apply to any non-UAOC website accessed from a link on the UAOC website. It does not apply to information that UAOC gathers from other sources and makes available on its website, such as names of certified
individuals or licensed facilities.
The website contains links to websites hosted by third parties. The third parties are not subject to this Utah Administrative Office of the Courts Website Privacy Policy or to other UAOC policies. Some of those websites may
have an interface that appears similar to that used by UAOC. Those websites may send their own cookies (see below) to you and solicit or collect information from you. When you submit information at those websites, you are
subject to the policies of the website’s host, except as noted below. Personal information submitted over the internet is usually handled appropriately and can be an effective way for you to participate in filing documents
to the court. It is possible, however, that unscrupulous persons may attempt to collect and misuse personal information. Before submitting personal information through any website, we encourage you to be sure you know who
is hosting the website and review the policies of the website host regarding personally identifiable information.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information
UAOC collects non-personally identifiable information to manage, evaluate, and improve the website. Examples of non-personally identifiable information include:
Internet Protocol ("IP") Addresses. An IP address is a number that is assigned when you use the internet. When you request a page from UAOC, our servers log IP addresses.
Personally Identifiable Information
UAOC will not collect any personally identifiable information about you (e.g., your name, address, e-mail address or other personally identifiable information) through its website unless you provide it voluntarily.
You must provide personally identifiable information if you wish to use certain features on the website.
We may use personally identifiable information that you provide online to contact you to either request more information from you or to provide you with information regarding court filings.
Constituent E-Mail Addresses
E-mail addresses obtained as a result of a request to the website will not be sold or given to private companies for marketing purposes. E-mail or other information requests sent to the website may be maintained to respond
to the request, forward that request to the appropriate agency, communicate updates to the state page that may be of interest to citizens, or to provide the web designer with valuable customer feedback to assist in improving
the website.
Cookies
UAOC does not currently use "cookies" to collect information but may do so in the future. A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser when you visit the website.
Cookies allow Websites to recognize your browser and to measure activity on different pages of the Website. Based on these measurements, Websites may update and improve the website. Websites also uses cookies to improve
your experience. For example, your user name and viewing preferences may be remembered using cookies, allowing you to revisit various parts of the website without resubmitting information. You also may get cookies from
other websites linked to the website. Cookies not set by UAOC are not subject to UAOC?s privacy policies.

however, it is possible that some parts of the website may not function properly for you if you refuse or disable cookies.
Security
We take precautions to protect the security of information you submit. All of your information is restricted in our offices. Only UAOC staff who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally
identifiable information. Our staff must enter passwords to access this information. Further, the servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment, within a locked room.
Information collected on this website is subject to the access and confidentiality provisions of the Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA), Utah Code Title 63, Chapter 2, other applicable sections of the Utah Code
or federal law. These statutes allow and require government agencies to protect the privacy of personally identifiable information.
When We May Disclose Your Information
We may disclose information you provide if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with our rights or property
or the rights or property of our users or others or to enforce or apply any conditions of use for the website or other agreements. We also may disclose information you provide when we believe in good faith that the law requires
disclosure, including exchanging information with others for fraud protection, law enforcement, and risk reduction.
Please note that any information supplied to UAOC becomes the property of UAOC.
